German Language School
More than alanguage school
Our German Language School has been part of Melbourne life since the 1960s, founded by Templer families keen to preserve their language, culture and heritage.
We offer after-school German classes for children children aged 5–18 in Bayswater and Bentleigh.

Common questions
Everything parents usually ask us about our German Language Classes.
We welcome both heritage learners and students who are just beginning to learn German as a second language.
Heritage learners strengthen their reading and writing, expand their vocabulary and grow in confidence using German in a wider range of situations.
If there’s space, yes! Get in touch and we’ll let you know what’s possible.
The German Language School is open to all families and there is no requirement to join the Temple Society Australia.
If your child is unwell or unable to attend, they are welcome back the following week. As classes run in small groups, teachers help students re-join smoothly. Missed classes are not refundable.
Students should bring a notebook, pencil case and water bottle. Teachers will let families know if anything additional is needed.
