Joining the Board
Board Member Delegates help guide the future of our Templer community. The role involves reading Board papers, attending meetings, contributing to strategic discussions and following through on decisions.
As a Board Member Delegate, you serve as a Director of a company limited by guarantee and take on personal legal duties under the Corporations Act. Please read the information about Directors’ responsibilities before nominating.
Joining a Committee
Joining a Committee is a way to contribute to an area of Templer life that matters to you, whether that’s events, heritage, caring for others or looking after our community’s resources.
Committees work in an advisory capacity. You’ll meet with fellow Templers, share ideas and make recommendations to help keep our traditions and values active in community life.
Most meetings are online and after hours, so Members from near and far can take part.
Terms are usually three years. Some Committees have one or two-year terms available to allow members’ terms to finish at different times. Terms will be allocated according to the approved arrangements for each Committee.
How to nominate
Download and complete the nomination form, then return it using the submission details on the form. You can also use the nomination pack sent to Members in September.
For Committee nominations, a seconder is encouraged as a simple way to show support from another Member, although this isn’t required by the Constitution.
Please ensure your completed nomination reaches us by 4 pm on Friday, October 16, 2026.
